Hmm, perhaps another case of this bug:

Can you fix that and then try again. Please report if it worked
or not.
Otherwise, sorry, I never used the external/vmware thing. Did
you try to search the linux-ha and linux-ha-dev ML? Would
external/libvirt also work with vmware?
