Not a chance in hell. Sorry. Way too many moving parts (equals more
fun ways to get screwed up, bonus points for any solution using the
word "guess") just to get a name.
If anything I'm more inclined to drop the lookup and go for:
1. nodelist -> name: if present, otherwise
2. uname()
