Its actually a really long time since I actually used heartbeat on OSX.
Mostly I just compile and install so that I can run the non-cluster
parts of Pacemaker (like ptest).

Try adding this to configure:
   --with-initdir=/private/etc/mach_init.d

That should be enough to start building.
