[Pacemaker] Heartbeat or OpenAIS

The HOWTOs say, that it is recommended to use OpenAIS for cluster stack with pacemaker, because heartbeat is on a dead development branch. But what is the reality, and how complicated is a migration? I've read much problems related to OpenAIS.
